Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

A Little Letter is a small project that lets people write letters to their past, future or present selves — some shared anonymously with strangers, some kept just for themselves. By using the site you agree to the terms below. If anything here doesn't sit right, please don't use the service.

2. Be kind

Letters shared publicly are read by real people, often during difficult moments. You agree not to post content that is hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, harassing, promotes self-harm, infringes on someone else's rights, or breaks any applicable law.

We may remove any letter that breaks these rules, and may suspend accounts that do so repeatedly.

3. Your content

What you write stays yours. By posting a letter publicly you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on A Little Letter and to let other readers view, react to and share it within the service.

Anonymous letters are not linked to your account in any way we can recover later — once they're sent, even we can't trace them back to you.

4. Accounts

You need to be 16 or older to create an account. Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

5. Not a crisis service

A Little Letter is not a substitute for medical advice, therapy or crisis support. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please visit our Find help page or call your local emergency number.

6. The service, as-is

We do our best to keep A Little Letter running smoothly, but the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We may add, change or remove features without notice. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

7. Changes to these terms

When we update these terms, we'll change the “last updated” date at the top. For meaningful changes we'll also let signed-in users know by email or in-app notice. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
